I was born in the colourful Mexico City. I moved to California at the age of 4 and this is when my passion for caring for animals began. Growing up, I loved visiting my family friends' farm where I cared for horses, dogs and cats. When I returned to Mexico, I knew I wanted to persue a career in animal care.
Back in Mexico, I applied and later was accepted at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and obtained my degree as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2014.
I then immigrated to Canada where I worked for 5 years at a small animal practice as a veterinary technician while I prepared to present my exam to be licensed as a veterinarian in Ontario. I wrote my exam just as the worldwide pandemic had begun and after a year of having my boards postponed, I finally obtained my license in 2020.
I have since worked as a vet in two busy small animal practices and despite the obstacles presented due to the pandemic, I still love my profession.
I have a particular interest in animal nutrition and believe this is a key element in pet health. I love working with pets and owners alike and strive to ensure that each pet owner feels heard and validated whenever they express concerns or have questions regarding their pet's health.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my pets (two dwarf bunnies and a rescue kitty) or practicing aerial silks and ballet.
